The above is the big question so many “dieters” ask. The truth is, it is different for each person. And the other truth is, to figure that out exactly will take you some time, effort, and quite possibly a group of physicists and mathematicians.
Trust me, I tried to calculate this number based on body weight, or BMI, activity levels, workout routines, and so on and so on. I came up with the number–or so I thought–then I got busy with work, had to cut out some work out times, and my original formula went bye-bye.
If you’re asking yourself, “How many calories should I eat a day?” I can tell you that you are in for a world of frustration.
The good news is, there IS a better way to figure out your caloric intake and it’s so easy, you just might end up lifting your jaw off of the floor. Ready for the answer?
Seriously. If you’ve either gained weight or stayed the same over the past 30 days, you are eating too many calories. I’m not trying to be snarky, but the best answer for you to succeed AND keep your sanity is to simply eat less. Eat less calories than you’re currently consuming now and you should see some of the weight drop off your frame.
You don’t have to count calories or stay under a magic number. That magic number is WRONG. It might be close to where you need to be, but it isn’t exact. Suppose your activity level drops. Now what is your calorie intake number, huh? See? Frustrating. Let’s say you are counting calories and you end up hitting your max at lunch? Then what? Are you going to not eat dinner? There is a BETTER way to “count calories” and start to lose weight.
So then, smartypants, how many calories a day should I eat overall?
