Three simple rules that will change your life!
You will learn how to feel fuller with less food.
“A while back (a couple years maybe), I remember bbqing a giant rack of ribs. I make great ribs. So good that people tend to ignore the side dishes and just eat ribs. You’re welcome, Atkins. Anyway, I looked at a giant slab and said to myself, “I could eat that whole rack!” I did. I was uncomfortably full, but I was fat and happy. Jump forward to a couple weeks ago, as I was grilling up ribs again, and I ate three. Three ribs. I was stuffed. I flashed back to that giant slab I ate all by my lonesome and wondered how I did it back then, but now, I can barely consume 3 ribs. It turns out, the Half Meal Habit changed the way food filled my belly.”
You don’t have to:

…eat a low fat diet.

We are all looking for that magic number. If we eat X amount of calories, we will lose weight fast! So many books, websites, and people claim to know the answer to that question. Isn’t it curious how there are so many overweight people who still don’t know what that magic caloric intake number is for them? Let’s take a look at the standard formula people use to try and determine this number.
Let’s start at 3500. This is the number of calories you need to burn to lose one pound of weight. Burn 3500 calories this week and you drop a pound, right? Nope. You have to burn 3500 more than you consume. So if you eat 1500 calories and burn 500 extra per day, you will lose that pound. Get it?

I know, it is quite confusing. To make sure you are burning those extra 500 calories per day, you have to log your calories, which is incredibly time consuming and difficult. What if you eat out somewhere and you have no idea how many calories you just consumed? Did you count that handful of candy? Are you sure you counted every measly calorie?
Let’s suppose you did amazingly kept track of each and every calorie consumed. Now you have to figure out how many you’ve burned. What kind of workout did you do today? Did you look up how many calories that activity burns? Now, did you push extra hard this time so you burned more than normal? Or did you actually kind of cruise along and not burn as many?
Are you getting how difficult and practically impossible it is to figure all this out? When trying to figure out how many calories I need to lose weight, I drove myself bananas. I determined that there has to be a better, easier, more realistic way to figure all of this out.
Here’s the bottom line. If you are slowly and steadily losing a pound or two a week, then you are eating the right amount to lose the pounds. If you’re not losing weight, regardless of your workout regimen, then you are eating too many calories and you need to somehow cut back.
That’s how I came up with the Half Meal Habit. I learned how to eat whatever I wanted and still lose weight. I learned how to eat less–a lot less; like 800 calories less per day–and I did this painlessly without counting a single calorie. There’s a way to eat half meals throughout your day and cut an enormous amount of calories out of your life. So much so, you can’t help but succeed.
It’s easy. Eat less, move more, and hydrate. Three simple rules that will change your life.
If you’re still asking yourself, “How many calories do I need to eat to lose weight?” you now can confidently state the answer: Less.
